Wired
The heart of any smart home is the structured wiring. Being able to evaluate the technological capabilities of your home means understanding how it's wired and what capabilities those connections mean. Structured wiring simply means a system of wiring including, data (CAT 5 or better) cable/satellite, telephone, audio/video, etc. that is usually homerun to a central location. Green Life Smart Life will be wired to today's standards using CAT 6 ensuring compatibility of all systems as well as future compatibility. Each room of the home will feature data jacks that support multiple Ethernet lines, telephone and cable/satellite. Of course, wireless will be present throughout the house, but using hard wiring is always preferable where possible as it is more stable and often more secure. All of this structural wiring will be home run to a structured wiring panel that will host all of the terminations for the Ethernet, cable/satellite, and telephone lines.

Other systems such as security (CCTV and alarm), intercoms, audio/video and lighting can have a presence in the structured wiring enclosure as all of the devices are connected over a network in the home and integrated with one another.
